1986 - Amazing Spider-Man #282 cover

Here's a commissioned cover based on the printed version by John Romita. Romita is also the artist who drew the 25th Anniversary frame. (http://romitaman.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=11572&ArtistId=947&Details=1&From=Room)

According to CGC, the printed cover is credited to Leonardi and Layton, although it doesn't look like it in my humble opinion.

And this tribute cover by Scot Kollins to this issue reprinted in Marvel Tales #290 which actually never got published! (http://www.comicartfans.com/forsaledetails.asp?artid=351631&did=4)

Instead this one was printed.... not sure why it was picked over the Kollins' one?

  1. I'd guess the editor thought Kollins' cover didn't feature X-Factor prominently enough, but it's just a guess.

  2. Good point, not exactly a heroic image of Spidey either...
